T plus 14 hours – bedtime!

So the sun has set on our first day of project Robin on the Roof and I have to say it’s been a smashing success so far!!

Robin on the roof at sunset Day1!

We’re only 14 hours in and we’re already halfway to our goal!  I forecast that we blast right by our goal around lunch but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come down or that you should bring less!!  Goals are meant to be surpassed!!  There are so many food banks in our area that can use our help – the more food we can collect, the BETTER!!  It warms my heart to know that so many of our friends & neighbors can still reach into their cupboards or wallets to share what they have even when I know they barely have enough for themselves.  What they say is true –

EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS!

(Including our hearts!!)

Everyone wants to know if Robin plans to sleep on the roof and the answer is YES!  She has plenty of blankets, pillows, and company so we needn’t worry.  Thanks go out to our friends & volunteers that plan to stay with her overnight to make sure she’s safe!!

Our Volunteer Signature Shirt!

Don’t forget we have a lot of events planned for tomorrow including:

– Super-soak the Robin

– bring us your dirty car-wash

– a real hot-air-balloon (and I don’t mean Bruce ;o)

– and the youth band Phath (pronounced Faith) goes on @7:30!

We hope to see you & all your friends tomorrow at the Kennedale First United Methodist Church!

Total current weight: 5,324.25

PS: Robin says “throw away your Buns o’ Steel DVDs & try Roof-ercise! Guaranteed to shape your buns & legs like no other exercise program available today!!”  Too funny!! Sweet Dreams, all you Robin on the Roof Fans!!
